What does B Corp mean to our employees?

In preparation for B Corp month, we ran an internal workshop to get our employees discussing what B Corp means to them, what we’re doing well, and areas to work on to improve our positive impact.

We started by asking the question below to create a word cloud:

It was great to see that our people have a great understanding of what being B Corp certified is all about! They focused primarily on sustainability, ethics, inclusivity, responsibility, and purpose.

The session was insightful and productive, and highlighted how we can continue to drive continuous improvement across the business and ensure our people, planet and communities are a priority.

As we come to the end of B Corp month, we have asked some of our employees to sum up why being a B Corp is important. Here are their responses:

“It shows our commitment to being a sustainable company, that isn't just based on profits, but invests in people and the environment accordingly.”

“Being a B Corp is important because it allows us to quickly demonstrate that we are living our values and trying to make a difference, to both clients and employees.”

“It standardises, normalises, and prioritises businesses driving environmental and societal changes, with the belief that a sustainable business can still be profitable, if not more so.”

“Being a B Corp is important as it helps the company focus on its environmental impact and empowers staff to support in achieving the company’s sustainability vision.”

“B Corp ensures that we use our business as a force for good and uphold our values and integrity in everything that we do.”

“As a company we need to do the best we can, by the people we have working for us, and for the environment that we live in. The B Corp certification aligns with our morals and values.”
